Hi All, I'm new to this forum so will start by trying a review of Lechlade Trout Fishery...?

Number of Lakes: One
Size: Approx 10 Acres
Features: Large Island and many bays/promontories
Stock: Rainbows and Browns
Size: Average 7-9lb many doubles
Water: Variable, can be clear, but is usually carrying some colour. Visibility of several feet
Boats: Three, on fixed mooring.
Web: www.lechladetrout.co.uk
tel: 01367 253 266

Lechlade is best fished in the winter. September to May see this place at its best. It is not an 'easy' water, and to get a limit is an achievement. that said, when 'on form' it can be easy as anywhere else! The fish in this place can only be descrivbed as superb. In winter the averages are close to double figures.

Hotspots are the point at the far end of the fishery and the bank to the right of the lake. Fishing off the 'island' into the larger part of the lake is also very good. On the smaller part of the lake, try the first swim as you arrive (especially for browns) or the part where the boats are tied. if you're in a boat, choose the mooring closest to the house and cast at the house or at the bush to the right.

My personal bests from Lechlade are: Rainbow 19lb 14oz, and Brown 15lb 7oz.

BR
Alex
