A few dedicated anglers specializing in fly fishing carp have started seeing some willing fish but as most of the upriver fish are still in the spawn mode it will be another couple of weeks before that fishery really gets hot.
We have heard of a couple of fish in the mid teens being landed. This is a great size fish and as they are quite athletic this is a real feat.

Sturgeon fishing has been very good with a number of fish in the 8 to 9 foot class coming to the boat this past couple of weeks.
Anglers from throughout the country have made the trip into Eastern Washington to try their hand at these trophy sized fish. Water temps have been optimum in the low 60's(Fahrenheit). Good steady water flows have helped the success rate, but the heat wave we are seeing now in the Pacific Northwest could raise the temps enough to put off the larger fish.
When this happens we have to cover more water looking for willing fish.

The fish shown is a 92 inch fish caught in the last week of June. This fish was released unharmed.
