Hi Guys,
Just wondering how Halliford Mere lakes in shepperton are fishing at the moment, as I am looking to head down there Next Friday afternoon?
I am pretty new to fly fishing and also wondered what my chances would be and if any of you have any tips?
Thank |

Hi mate.
Welcome to the forum!
Haliford Mere can be tough especially at this time of year although if we get some rain and it stays cool this week, it might be ok.
It's cheap enough if you want some casting practice & if you catch, it's a bonus.
If you want to catch, you might be better of at Albury Estate fishery near Guildford. Bit more expensive with no catch & release.

Hey
Thanks mate
Well originally from Addlestone so really Close, Live in Norway at the moment, which is where I started fly fishing.
But I am back visiting home next weekend and the old man wanted to give it a go, who am I to deny that.
Yeah I looked at Albury estate but the internet says it is closed till September 1st for dredging.
To be honest my casting does need more practice and it will be good to give my Dad a go I guess. |

Hello all,
Just wanted to say that Halliford Mere is now under new management.
Lake 1 was stocked last week and more fish ordered for next week.
The trout are taking Blueflash damsels and Montana`s
Also lots of work going into clearing swims and back-casts where reqd.
Hope to see some of you soon.

Hi Gerry.
Welcome to the forum and thanks for the update. Are you the new manager?
If so, will the fishery now be open 7 days a week or closed on Monday and Tuesday's like before?
Cheers

Hello,
The plan is to continue with the existing Wednesday to Sunday opening for the time being.
Maybe with a review when the planned works complete.
Cheers

Hi
Good luck with the works Gerry. I used to have a season ticket so will be interested in how things develop (although not much time for fishing at the mo.).
Is it still going to be predominately C&R or will there be some put n take?

Hello all,
Ticket prices are £15-00 for any 5 hour period, or £20-00 for all day.
We also offer a full season ticket for £480-00, which gives you access 7 days a week.
It was great to meet drsixty7 today, I hope I can meet some more of you soon.
Cheers
Gerry
p.s. Lake 1 is fishing very well, with the best days catch return being 33 fish from 5 rods. |

Good to meet you too Gerry, you'll definitely be seeing more of me down at Halliford especially with an encouraging catch rate like that, anyone up for a mini social? _________________ From.a silk purse to a pigs ear |

I'd be up for that Mick!
Lets get a few of us together. Kev, t'other Mick, Steve, Tim and perhaps Troutstalker.
Gerry, please keep us informed of catch reports and news. It will certainly generate interest for you as 'might' a Facebook page. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/groups/completefisher/ |
