Hi

Am off to Padstow for Easter and thought I may as well make the most of whats on offer! I fly fish but have no sea fishing tackle and want to get a rod/reel combo if possible to fish from the beach or up the estuary. Anyone got any ideas? Would also like to know what fish I may hope to get at this time of year & the methods to catch them - guess that may be like asking how long's a piece of string but if you don't ask....

Eric,

I think your best idea would be to post this in the sea fishing section not coarse fishing Smile

No coarse gear at all - normally go fly fishing

Hi Eric,
I beach fish a lot (mainly Chesil) but it´s very hard to give some one advice on what outfit to buy. If your a complete sea novice ring tackle shops in the padstow area and ask their advice. Tell them what your budget is and they´ll kit you out with suitable tackle to target something.
Make sure you take your fly tackle as ive seen good sized Mullet in Padstow harbour.
