As some of you will be aware Roy has been suffering from cancer over the past year. Roy’s son, Matthew, has asked me to let you know that Roy hasn’t been well enough to post recently and, as Matthew rather eloquently put it, “the line from the Fisher of Men is pulling quite strong”. For obvious reasons I won’t post Matthew’s email address on the forum, but if any of you would like to contact Roy via Matthew drop me a PM and I’ll pass on Matthew’s email address. |

Very sad to hear that Roy is so poorly. Always enjoy his posts, and his photographs, especially those of wonderful distant places that he has had the privilege and good fortune to visit. Will be thinking of him and his family at this time. _________________ I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

Bummer .... was about a year ago that Roy was shattered to learn he had
cancer & had to cancel the 2 mth. fishing safari we had planned.
Was pleased that he subsequently seemed to be reacting positively to treatment
so to hear otherwise comes as as shock.

If anyone has sent me a pm asking for Matthew's email address but not had a reply can you pm me with an email address I can use. I seem to be having major problems with the PM system with my replies ending up in the outbox but never appearing in the sent box (or is this normal?) |

I dreaded opening this post when I read the title especially as he hadn't replied to my question on his Sat Nav thread. That is most unlike Roy, who is a true gent in every meaning of the word.
If the Fisher of Men has been foolish enough to set his hook into this particular fish, then he had better be prepared for a hell of a fight .
