This coming week I have decided to have a crack at the Pike. So to mark the occasion I thought I would come up with a fly. I hope you like it and maybe the seasoned Pikers amongst you could give it some constructive criticism. It's about 4.5 inches long. The body material is some stuff I got in Hobby Craft a while ago, I can't remember what it's called. It's quite good, you can style and shape it with a heat gun.
Cheers Dave

Bally's Sparkly Roach

Hook: 4/0 Jap Semi Circle
Body: Some Sparkly Pearly Stuff From Hobby Craft, High Tied
Over Wing: Sparse Oive/Black Supreme Hair
Head: 3D Eyes Locked In With UV Nail Gel

Dave,
The body fibre you've used looks very much like "Crystalina" in Opal Haze - Its a fusible fibre marketed under the "Craftynotions" label from Hobby Craft.

The fly looks fine, should catch Pike well Cool

If the water you are fishing contains Roach, an enhancement to your fly might well be the addition of a splash of bright red fibre (as pectoral fins ) tied in short before you apply the eyes Wink
Making it a little more "Roachy" and providing an aiming mark for any pike.

HTH ...... Tony

Thanks for that Tony, there are plenty of roach where I intend fishing so I'll give your recommendation a try.
Cheers Dave
