There are several ponds and lakes that have bass and I was wondering what flys and or nymphs to use.also does one use nymphs this far into the season or would you have a dry on top and a nymph for under the surface any thoughts

I by no means know very much other than my eldest son living at my farm has several ponds to fish in and catches bass and bluegill on black and yellow wooly buggers. When it is hot like now a floating popper fished along the weeds get some MONSTER strikes.

Bass will take a huge variety of flys, but day in and day out streamers will usually get the most attention from them. Some of my favorite streamers for bass are

Half&Half
Madonna
Zoo Cougar
Zonker
Leech/Wooly Bugger
Matuka
Trick or Treat
Crawfish patterns

Mice, frogs and other deer hair bass bugs also get some really good top water action going.
