Well i don't normally complain but here goes.

Penn Surf master looks shiny and good the line lay on it is exceptional and it casts like a dream. After a little use for a month the gearing is shot so off back to the manufacturer it goes

One thing i can say about Penn is there after sales service is second to none

I thought Penn reels are supposed to be 'bomb proof' I'll stick to my Abu Mag Elites thanks.

Well had the reel repaired by Penn free of charge and very promtly as expected. Only for it to sieze exactly as it did before I will see if i can get a credit note from the tackle dealer i purchased it from and get a proper reel that can last more than a few months Sad

Have to agree with you, Penn customer service is probably the best but their fixed spools reels dont last the test of time, highly recommend shimano, they last forever! Very Happy
