Thanks for posting that update Alan. I am completely ignorant of what is going on behind the scenes at BW but on the face of it that sounds quite hopeful.
Trying to be positive because, I’m sure like many others, I’m utterly fed up and depressed with just about everything to do with anything at the moment. |

I think you speak for most of us.
I just hope that when the reservoirs open on 10th/11th March the travel restrictions will have eased enough to enable us to get to the lakes.

Update posted on Facebook today by John from BWF. You can watch the clip for yourself here
For those of you not on Facebook the main points are ....
* As stated in the posts above this one, the plan still is to open a week or so later than originally published, subject to the Govt announcement on the 22nd February
* Blagdon has received most of its pre-season stocking with only a few fish still to go in. 'Some cracking fish this year'
* Chew has 9,400 fish in cages that will be released with a top up from the hatchery. One cage includes lumps that are 'easily 5-6lbs'
* Barrow tanks will be stocked either this or next week
* Permits - still some difficulties with the online system. Will publish details as soon as they are ready.
* No restriction on number of trout season permits available. (There are restrictions on the number of pike season permits but that number is not expected to be met)

For those on Facebook, a preview from BWF showing some of the fish stocked from the cages on Chew can be found here
A further clip here shows just how quickly they spread out when released from the cages.
