Does anyone use their float tube on Ravensthorpe??
It seems a popular location for tubers.
I would be interested to compare notes after my kayak outings.

I've flagged this up on the CFF FB page where there are lots of float tubers so hopefully someone will drop by to respond.

Hi ,
I’ve fished it a couple of times so I’m no expert but feel free to ask any questions and I’ll do my best to answer them .
I’m hoping to give it a go in Autumn for Pike as well.
The £10 launch fee is a bit steep though imho.

Hi Mark.
Yes the launch fee is steep, infact for £2 more I could have a one man boat and a two fish ticket for the day. The only positive was all the boats were booked on the day so I would not have been able to fish without the kayak.
A float tuber turned up at about 5pm which was a good move as the wind dropped., next time I go I might just have an afternoon ticket.
I fished mainly the dam end as that was the way the wind was blowing so saved a lot of paddling, do you have any advice on areas to fish. As I said earlier it all felt right but I struggled to get pulls despite being confident in my methods.

Hi Peter,
This time of year i would concentrate on the later part of the day for sure 👍
I’ve only fished the dam end mainly . I’ve always done well on the bank where the office is ( left hand bank as you walk in ). September /Oct when there are good hatches of sedges is the time I normally fish it as you get a good rise there .
On a separate note, am I right in thinking you fish Farmoor ?. |
