They look good to me I could have saved you a little hassle and done the pictures for you when they turned up, least I could do for keeping you all waiting an extra 3 days. |

That’s ok Paul, photobucket was just playing up for some reason, it kept putting the pictures in upside down, even after rotating them. I tied my last fly with my own hair it was that frustrating!!!! _________________ Born to fish - forced to work |

I also wasted half the morning with same site, but they're now on there if anyone wants to look. www.photobucket.com then arkle_photos _________________ Hi there, I have around 40 yrs exp. of tying flies, incl. some semi-pro work. I've taught at adult evening classes, written for and supplied photos for most U.K. fly magazines. Given talks/slide shows/lectures/demonstrations etc. Am founder and life pres. of local Fly Dressers Guild (27years), our members have won more prizes for tying than any other similar club, we've also won several national flyfishing comps. I look forward to both learning from and contributing to this highly respected forum. |

I rather choose the number 3 named Marks cause it looks like a shrimp and that's the best for fishing. But for me while i am waiting for the fish to eat my bait ill just play some of my games called gacha life and akinator just buying some time |

Look at me resurrecting this old post from 2008
I have been doing some Grayling fishing on a stretch of the Itchen that Wylye kindly introduced me too. This has meant looking at basic fly patterns to tie and try, many of which are not that far removed from the above examples.
Interestingly the original post seems to be before the popular trend of jig hooks and beads.
I will take any advice on offer, in my limited fishing and tying for Grayling I have found the good old PTN with various tweeks to work best for me. Size and weight also seems to be crucial.
Wylye did give me a master class and a selection of flies to use so I have had some success.

Hi Peter, hope you are keeping well.
Some baetis/olive type flies. Nymphs and dries.
Some caddis type flies. Nymphs and dries.
Some shrimps and spiders.
Some patterns for dirty water, squirmy.
Look through you tube at folks like Andy Buckley and blogs like Andrew Hawker-Overend.
Good range of size/weights.
PM sent mate. Its a mine field like most fly fishing and yet easy and best to keep simple.
Cheers, Mark. |

Thanks Mark
When I fished this week there was a good rise of fish at midday which I struggled with due to a lack of suitable dry flies (apart from a few that Wylye gave me)
I may post a picture or two of my more successful concoctions.
