I wondered if anyone has experience of a Penn Eurorod as one was gifted to me yesterday. It´s Graphite, rated #7-9 and is 10ft long.
It feels fairly stiff in the butt section so perhaps a good rod for seatrout?

Never heard of it before. The line rating makes me think it is something a few years old when rods were given multiple line ratings. It now appears fashionable for manufacturers just to use a single line rating which is usually quite useless to the average angler of average casting ability. I would try your rod with WF8 line. I have an old Bob Church 2 piece rod with a 7/9 rating and this seems to work for it. I imagine it would make a perfect sea trout or reservoir rod.

I´ve given the Penn a trial casting session this weekend and the results were pleasing. I borrowed a sicientific anglers #8 WF floating bass bug line and put the rod through it´s paces.
I thought the 10ft length would be too much for me to handle (As a relative newbie) but it wasn´t, the rod loaded and sent the line perfectly and i plan to use it for some trips too the coast as well as reservoir work. That´s after I straighten up one ring on the tip which is pointing 30 degrees away from the centre line and put another ring in a gap which looks like it was missed at the factory as the blank is unmarked at that spot.
