Fished with Jack again on the River Parrett today but the conditions were not as welcoming as last time due to a brisk, cold easterly wind. Our first port of call produced a few fish for us last time but today we found the fish in a dour mood although by noon Jack had lost a reasonable fish as he tried to steer it away from a submerged bush and I had opened our account with this little fellow ... Very Happy

As nothing was happening we decided to explore a new spot downstream which was wider and deeper but it didn't make any difference so as a final throw of the dice we moved again to somewhere more familiar. This place served us well last time but although I couldn't buy a pull, Jack started to get some interest on a large copper coloured fly but he couldn't get any of them to stick until last knockings, when he managed to catch two by the car park just before dark. Very Happy

So a tough day which wasn't really a great surprise due to the drop in temperature over the previous 24 hours and the cold Easterly wind. Smile

Until the next tide ... Smile
