Hello Tony,

Hope you are well ?.

Always meant to ask, my 1st Thornton, where Toby complained that his initiation into the drinking club was MUCH worse than the subsequent ones!!.
Something to do with fish, and trousers ...

Stewart did a very eloquent speech, and on behalf of the Forum, made a presentation of a fine boxed set of Pike flies.
Which ones worked ? Very Happy

Hans auctioned a set on here, which I won, and surprisingly, for me, the synthetic ties outfished the heavy buggers easily.
Never quite managed to replicate them myself.

Hello Tony,

Health is much more manageable now I've gone over from smoking to vaping, thanks for asking. Wink Just the age thing making things slightly more problematic, less energy these days. Embarassed Rolling Eyes

Regarding your query as to the effectiveness of the presentation Pike flies by Hans - I'm delighted to say that they all worked, but like you, I found that the synthetics outfished the heavier ones by at least 4 to 1.

But as you will see on the "Fly fishing for Pike" section - I have recently been having some success using Flashabou based flies, along with "wiggle tails" - one of which accounted for my current PB fish. Flashabou flies are very easy to tie - and I knock them up in a size range of 4" to 8". Wiggle tails are all 6" Wink

HTH my friend ......... T'other Tony Laughing
