Very nice flies as usual Neil, sorry to hear about the accident but at least the person that did that to you is having to undergo some hassle as well.

After that and tying one handed Neil, you can't complain about the quality of the flies. You are a lucky chap by the sounds of things. I got bonneted a few years ago now but was lucky enough to see it happening and get myself airborne a bit and went over rather than under the car. Still a painful experience.

Speedy recovery mate.

I started out planning to tie a few Cul de Canon but somehow it didn't quite turn out that way (I was having a bad hair day) and I ended up experimenting a bit.

Hook size 16 Varivas 2200BL
Thread UTC Hopper Yellow (plus Cobbler's wax)
Body is thread intertwined with a single strand of midge flash
Abdomen and thorax - 3 CDC feathers not quite tied in as per Dave Wiltshire's folded wing dun http://www.riverflybox.co.uk/cdcdunfoldedcdc.html

I shall try tying them a bit smaller now Rolling Eyes

Wow-and all that with one hand! Have a hard enough time with both hands. Get well soon, Neil

Very kind, but I should point out that whilst my arm is in a sling I can still use my hand and fortunately it's my right arm that's affected (I'm left-handed) Smile

The Lieutenant Colonel (we have a better class of sawbones in Brum) says I can go fishing Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

He did advise going easy on the press-ups though - I assured him that wouldn't be a problem Rolling Eyes
