I've had my eye on this Tfg carp reel but with the interest of using off the shore for beachcasting. Would it stand up to the salt/sand? I've recently had 2 baitrunners destroyed but they were cheap and old hence the need for a replacement.

Heres a link;

any help much appreciated

Chris

i use something similar but i take the spool off an spray the body with WD40 and guts with vasalin

then when finished for the day i just rinse under tap/shower in the caravan

then at the end of the hols i strip the reel and clean it an oil it revasalin it
also leave the spool to soak in bowl of warm soappy water then in clean water
usally the line gets changed every season

Wise words from Smiffy there. Most gear will hack it if you follow the same procedure as he outlines. From people I've spoken to TFG stuff is pretty good and at £50 very reasonable I'd say.
