Okay-I've edited this post and will leave it at the fact that these pics are some flies I tied recently. I thank all the sensible helpful comments from the majority of forumites and have learned a lot already. Thanks Again.

I must confess I'm certainly not a great fly-tier, but my flies catch and isn't that most important? In over three years I've tied more than 10,000 flies and couldn't use them all if I went fishing every day for the rest of my life so if anyone is interested in buying some please send a pm.? My rates will be very reasonable. I really only want to cover costs of materials, postage and labour. Tight Lines |
I'd post some pictures of them on here 07 so that everyone can see what you've got to offer. A picture paints a thousand words!

If I had any photos of my flies and knew how to post them I'd be delighted as remember I was born B.C. long before computers and I can just about handle a pc as it is. |

As we don't really know you yet I think you're going to have a bit of a thankless task asking people to buy flies they've not seen 07. To help you out, may I suggest you send me, or one of the other moderators a sample of say 10 of your best flies? We'll photograph them and post the pictures here for you. Once done we'll return them to you or send them to Casting For Recovery, a worthy charity, if you'd prefer.

I've managed to get one sample picture of flies I tie posted, but have more to post. I think I bettre leave the rest to Richard as he's much more experienced on these blasted computers. By the way the pattern is a classic Jack Frost Lure or what anglers from the other side of the pond call "streamers" |

Thanks Pimpernel At least someone has actually made an "honest" comment on my flies. As I said believe it or not these flies actually CATCH FISH! Whether you like the look of them-it seems the fish do! |

Of course, the fish are less fuzzy about our flies than we are,
but if I may be honest, the first thing I notice when I see your flies
is the heads, they are rather big, at least bigger than they need to be.
I think you use rather thick tying-thread, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong...
Also, the head could have a better finish.
Again, the fish will not bother, but people who want to buy flies will I am afraid.
It's not my intention to hurt or offend you of course.

I DON'T MIND CONSTRUCTIVE CRITIICISM-you have good points. I suppose as I've gottem in the habit just tying for myself and a few friends I don't take care to make neat heads or worry too much about getting proportions right. I will definitley try to improve those points. Thanks Again, Mate |

That my fellow forumites is a reply from a true gent.
Well done Hans.
Fly tier 07 - I would support the comments Hans has made. He is a fantastic tier and someone who's opinions on fly tying I truly respect.
I would suggest that perhaps instead of trying to sell your flies, perhaps give them freely to people that may express an interest, after all you have 10,000 !!Although I believe your flies will catch fish, as a retail venture I don't hold out much hope for you I'm afraid. I may of course be proved wrong...
Good on you for posting, it was worth a punt
You could always sell them at 25p each and donate to casting for recovery as Rich had mentioned?
Best,
