Hi Folks,

Anybody have experience of Meon springs recently or failing that last summer? I'm looking for a water for next weekend which would suit a beginner and a couple of more experienced fishers with a reasonable chance of fish for the novice. I thought the sping fed lakes might do it as they were ice free all winter and I assume would be cooler this summer - as long as the spring is still flowing given our low rainfall down south. I had a great day out with Flybysage, The Cowboy and Kevin in the depths of winter and hope it would be still viable mid summer. Any other fisheries sw London to the coast worth a look?

Hope you can help
Roger

Hi Gaz,

I fancy a change of scenery, need to restock the freezer Razz and most importantly get my mate into a fish or two. The Mere is great if you fancy a puzzle but as its my birthday I don't really want to stretch myself too much Shock nor be extracting flies from trees all the time Confused BTW starting to see a few fish cruising about on lake 1 in the far corner (where 1,2,3 meet) under the trees which are bigger than average - not winkled any out yet...

Latest Report from Meon:

On the lakes - Temperature 19C
The lakes are gin clear and fishing well, with some nice fish coming out. Black gold head daddy long legs are working particularly well.

This week's Fishing Tip

Fishing Gin Clear Water.
A common mistake that many people make is to rush up to the bank, sort out all of their tackle and then cast their line. This is not a good tactic, when fishing gin clear water - quite simply because if you can see the fish, they can see you and although you may be good looking, they will take fright and be off - leaving you with no quarry to catch.

No problems, if you are going to fish there more often, sign up for their newsletter online.

Yes Wales will no doubt be sunny.....or not very.....

Looking forward to it, although the drive is a complete and utter ball ache.....I may "work" from home that day and then slope off
