Whoops, I forgot all about this...Put up these very pictures with instruction on the fly data base about 18 months ago.

One other point.....Since those pictures were taken, I now tend to leave the natural curvature of the EZ body in the fly, and don't puposely straighten it out.

Thank's lads, the Cuda schoolie's sound brilliant fun. Brian, yes I tied sand eel's in both EZ Body and Flexi Cord. I think the flexi cord gives a more life-like pattern IMO. I tied the Flexi Cord pattern stuffed with Supreme Hair and DNA Holofusion for the tail and soaked the tail/body wraps with super glue, I think this will make for a tougher pattern as when the F/cord is destroyed the under body should still be intact, theoretically any way. How long are your pattern's Brian??

Can't wait to fish a new location, I've never fished abroad before, I know it's not the most exotic of fly fishing destination's but I'll give it a go and if I catch 'owt, then it'll be a bonus, even if it's just Mullet.

Cheers Dave

Hey Dave, that was a bit of luck, about the only flies I haven't already packed are my shark and cuda flies....Quick measure up, and they are around 6" from eye of hook to tip of tail, or just a fraction longer.

Can't quite make out whether you are coating the length of the tubing for durability, but if you are, I would seriously advise against it.

Those flies pictured have the head and a tiny portion of the tube by the bend of the hook, coated with Tuffleye, and just the thread wraps tying down the tail have been super glued. The rest of the EZ body has been left just as it is, for whilst it may not seem so, there is a little bit of movement imparted into the EZ body when retrieved, which a coating of anything would totally impair.. It is for this reason also, that I only put a little superhair and flash through the tube, and now leave it with its natural curve, rather than straighten it right out.

Hi Brian, this is my latest Flexi Cord eel that you were on about. The head is built up greeny mono and nail gel up to the hook bend, the Supreme Hair colours show through the translucent pearl Flexi. Like yours I only glued the tail whipping, but made sure it soaked in to the tail base, so it's well anchored. I think the 1/4" Flexi mimics the shape of a natural Sand Eel body really well.

Cheers Dave

The way you have tied that should be fine...Sorry misunderstood, as I thought from what you said, you might have been coating the actual flexicord body.
